  • Lydia Stallard (she/her)

    Lydia is a Registered Psychologist who provides specialised therapy and support in the areas of women’s and reproductive health, matrescence and perinatal mental health. Lydia works with adults across all stages of life and mothers, parents and birth-givers throughout the pre and postnatal stages and beyond. Lydia can work with depression, anxiety, stress, workplace issues, relationship pressures, past trauma, persistent pain, pelvic pain, gut issues, postnatal depression and anxiety, birth trauma and birth preparation. Lydia offers individual psychological therapy sessions utilising an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) based approach.

  • Celia Wahnig (she/her)

    Co-director, Pelvic Health Physiotherapist

    Celia is a Pelvic Health Physiotherapist who has completed advanced training in treatment of a range of conditions such as prolapse, bladder leakage, bowel problems, pelvic pain, pregnancy and post-natal changes, pain with sex and more.

    Celia is has been a Pelvic Health Physio for over 10 years and owns Elevate Physio in Nelson. She loves working with women at all stages of their life to optimise their pelvic and overall health, so they can enjoy their life, their way.

  • Jen Holmes Beamer

    Trauma Counselling and Therapy (M.Sc., B.Kin., C-IAYT)

    As a member of New Zealand Association of Counsellors and Australia and New Zealand Association of Psychotherapy (ANZAP), Jen offers trauma-informed psychotherapy to support healing from complex trauma, PTSD and mental health challenges. Jen is grounded in evidence-based and holistic methods of trauma healing including EMDR and trauma-sensitive yoga, on a basis of a collaborative therapeutic relationship.

    As an internationally accredited yoga therapist and trauma sensitive yoga facilitator through the Trauma Center at the Justice Resource Institute, she bridges talk therapy and embodiment practices in her therapy practice. Over the past 2 years Jen has developed and facilitated the first trauma sensitive yoga group program in Nelson through ACC-sensitive claims for survivors of sexual abuse, holding space to re-connect with the body after trauma. She offers supervision and training in trauma-informed practice.

    Jen’s gentle and empathetic approach provides the space to safely connect with your inner world and your innate capacity for healing.

    I'm a Registered Nurse, passionate about Holistic Health and Lifestyle Medicine. I have completed further education in Lifestyle Medicine through the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine, and as a Health Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition.

    I meet you as you are, with a client-centered and strengths-based approach. Together we navigate your individual challenges and lifestyle related health concerns.

    I use the Five Pillars of Wellbeing; Nutrition, Movement, Stress Management, Relationships and Sleep, as a guide to establish balance and overall wellness in your life. We will create simple, realistic and achievable goals that are sustainable over the long-term. This is supported by my experience in Behaviour Change Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

    I've had my own experience with stress, burnout, and disordered eating. I strongly encompass an Anti-Diet approach and use the Intuitive Eating principles to empower individuals to discover Food Freedom.

    Clinical Nurse Consultant and Founder of Stepping Stones Therapy and Yoga

    I’m proud to provide multifaceted yoga and therapy services to empower you with the tools, strategies, awareness and confidence to live a life in tune with your authentic self.

    I’m a clinical nurse consultant with over 18 years’ experience, specialising in supporting individuals to recover from mental health concerns, I have extensive expertise in eating disordered behaviour and body image issues. I’ve worked as a specialist in a variety of clinical settings including inpatient and day programs, as well as community settings where I’ve offered comprehensive assessments, case management, and individual and group therapy.

    As a trained yoga teacher, I’ve taught hatha, restorative and yin classes in clinical and community spaces for over 8 years. My mission is to support people to apply yoga principles in daily life in order to live with mindfulness, intention and self-compassion. As a down-to-earth, calm, compassionate and nurturing person, I hold space for you to go within and work on what is holding you back from tapping into your full potential.

    My wealth of clinical and yoga experience is combined at Stepping Stones Therapy and Yoga to offer you support through individual therapy, tailored yoga classes, workshops and retreats.

  • Helen Knott

    Physiotherapist - Cancer Rehabilitation, Lymphoedema and Breathing

    Helen obtained a Bsc (Hons) Physiotherapy at the University of Cape Town, South Africa in 1988 and has worked in private practices, hospitals and special education facilities in South Africa and New Zealand over the past 35 years. She has been the owner of Activate Physiotherapy and Rehabiitation since 2008.

    Helen has particular interest in pre and post-operative rehabilitation and the management of anxiety and complex pain and works extensively with patients recovering from cancer treatments. She enjoys working in close collaboration with medical specialists and health practitioners of all disciplines. She is passionate about patient centered, holistic healthcare and the importance of good breathing to maintain health throughout life.

    Helen has completed advanced training in oncology physiotherapy and is a certified Pinc and Steel Cancer rehabilitation therapist, a Bradcliff certified Breathing therapist and also a Certified Lymphoedema therapist through the Australasian Lymphology Association.

    Helen also teaches small group pilates classes integrating stretching and mindfulness relaxation to encourage patients to take time out fore rest and restoration in order to focus the mind and balance the body.

    She loves living in Nelson and embraces all the wonderful things this region offers.
